Eligibility: All juniors (under 18) welcome. (Entrants do not have to be members of the NSW Junior Chess League but are welcome to join)
Format: The tournament will be in the ‘Swiss’ format (it is not a knock-out – everyone plays in all rounds. In each round you play someone on a similar score to yours.
Time Limit: Chess clocks will be used with a time limit of 15 minutes per person per game.
Venue: Newcastle PCYC, Young Road, Broadmeadow.
Time: Registration from 9.30 a.m., play starts 10 a.m., expected finish by 2.30 p.m.
Ratings: Games will be rated by the NSW Junior Chess League.
Lunch: Players may bring their own lunch and refreshments or purchase them from nearby establishments. (We do not know at this time whether there will be a canteen at the PCYC).
Entry fee: $5 for members of the NSWJCL or PCYC, $8 for others; discounts are available for multiple entrants from the same family.
