Additional Notes Concerning the Competition in Some Areas CENTRAL COAST Change to One-Day Format: This year we plan to change the Central Coast competition from weekly home-and-away format to one-day format. It will be held in one or probably two separate zones, North and South, each of which will be take place at a central venue on one day. This is to avoid the difficulties that many schools have encountered with regular travel on Friday afternoons due to traffic congestion. For each of the two zones a day will be scheduled in second term for the teams to play all their matches. The zone winners will then proceed – as in previous years – to knock-out region finals in third term. The one-day format is used for most country zones where travel distances make weekly home-and-away format too difficult. Please enter by the advertised entry closing date so that we can consider all schools when choosing a suitable date for your zone competition. (Your entry will be regarded as tentative and may be withdrawn if the day chosen does not suit your school. Alternatively, you can change to the other zone competition, as schools are not restricted to the closer zone.).
BLUE MOUNTAINS, In these areas the zone competitions are each held on one day rather than in weekly home-and-away format. This is to avoid excessive travel. For each zone a day will be scheduled in second term for the teams to meet at a central venue and play all their matches. The zone winners will then proceed to the knock-out region finals in third term. Please enter by the advertised entry closing date so that we can consider all schools when choosing a suitable date for your zone competition. (Your entry will be regarded as tentative and may be withdrawn if the day chosen does not suit your school.) |
