play for their state in the first-ever interstate internet chess

14 year old Michael Yu defeated all his opponents to win the second
of the NSW Junior League's regional warm-up tournaments held at
Randwick. Leading final scores: Michael Yu 11/11; Nicole Solomon 9.5; Arthur
Huynh and Shaad Manchanda each 8.

The third warm-up, held at Liverpool, was won by 15 year old
Gary
McNamara, also with a perfect score and a margin of 2.5 points.
Leading final scores: Gary McNamara 12, Justin Huang 9.5, Allan McGregor 9.

Thirteen year old Ronald Yu won the first regional warm-up at
Lidcombe on Saturday. Leading final scores- Ronald Yu 10/11, Hoi-Ming
Chan 8.5, Arthur Huynh and Benjamin Harris 8.

Zong-Yuan Zhao has won the
Australian Junior Championship,
ahead of fellow IM David Smerdon. NSW player Michael Lip beat Smerdon in the
final round to give Zhao the cherished title.
